We should consume information the same way, we consume and select food
We all know, that we should not eat fast-food every day of the week. Instead we should be selective in what enters our body. The same should be applied to our brains.
You should treat consuming TV, low-quality YouTube videos or social media the same way, as having a burger. You can do it once in a while but if you do it everyday instead of consuming high-quality nutrient-rich food, this habit will grow into an issue sooner or later. Negative habits compound also.
Cues for certain actions are often related to an environment, and environments can be designed. So in the same way as we should keep cookies out of sight, we should keep low-quality content out of sight.
